24. Ad Cuts
More people have been layed-off in the adverting industry according to this article, JWT has layed off a dozen in Atlanta and Dallas. Most of these positions were creative positions. The cuts came from a new chief creative officer fitting the size of the agency to his needs.
This seems odd, a successful agency should have a lot of diverse workers, not a few. Ideas come from and bounce off larger groups of people. I am interested to see if the new creative officer decides to hire more employees or what they produce with so few.
23. Spring Color
It is amazing how colors make me feel. Seeing the brightness of this springs trends make me energized and excited. The trigger a happiness inside me.

22. AOL
Where a brand advertises can say a lot about their values. If they advertise on kids channels vs. channels made for women, on Republican or Democratic channels. AOL has found this out. AOL has been advertising on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show and has recently decided to pull out of the deal.
Rush Limbaugh is a Republican icon with a TV show and a radio show. AOL decided to pull its advertising after Limbaugh said some incriminating things about a college girl for advocating birth control. Such controversial platforms can be destructive to brands. People could see AOL advertisements as support for this man, seeing this, AOL pulled.
This was a good strategic move. Brands should stay out of political shows, and issues unless directly related. If shown on those channels, consumers can make assumptions.

21. Musical Personality
This is an amazing way to combine multiple platforms and create a brilliant user experience. The only fault might be a form of stereotyping by the kinds of clothing people wear. Thinking a person who purchases a studded jacket listens to punk rock music, could be completely off. All in all I love this idea. This is the kind of project I someday want to be apart of.

My group and I made our Gateway multimedia project on social media. We focused on how it is used on different platforms by college students, following five girls throughout campus.
